Act as Head of School,appointed by the Board of Directors (“The Board”) to administer andimplement the school’s broad educational mission and policies asestablished by the Board; provides day-to-day educationalleadership for the school.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college oruniversity MA in education, business, or equivalent MontessoriAdministrator Credential OR a combination of education and experience
LanguageAbility:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports,educational reports, and legal documents Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints fromstaff, families, regulatory agencies, or members of the businesscommunity
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of G Suite and other apps/software used for wordprocessing and financial spreadsheets General skill in navigating computer-based programs

Supports student experiences and ensures the continuation ofthe Montessori philosophy within the classrooms and community Fostering parent involvement, community engagement, and familyretention Engaging and reporting to the Board of Directors and BoardCommittees Recruiting, developing and leading faculty and staff Supporting the Director of Business Operations with financialmanagement and facilities operations Overseeing and supporting enrollment and marketingstrategies Works to promote harmonious relationships among students,faculty and staff
Student Engagement:
Demonstrate a dedication to the cultivation of theintellectual, social, emotional and physical development of thestudents Fosters diversity and inclusion among the community Supports selection of student of activities and specialprogramming Oversees the school safety programs, including buildingsecurity, emergency procedures, safety drills, licensing andcertification, etc. and ensures staff training to support theseprograms Collaborates with the Student Support Team and Lead Guides toensure student challenges are identified and progress is monitoredon a timely basis with both academic and behavioral support.
Responsible for student disciplinary decisions and communicationwith the SST and families. Approves and administers rules, procedures, and support ingoverning the student body
Community Engagement:
Collaborates and supports The Flock parent group incoordinating community on campus events that promote school wideengagement Fosters and supports parent involvement, engagement andvolunteerism Offers opportunities for parent conversations regardingMontessori and child development, such as Parent Coffee and ParentEducations nights Communicates weekly with parents and community membersregarding community updates, important events, policy changes orother necessary information Establishes and oversees programs for after-hours, including
Junior Village, Village and Summer VillageBoard Relations:
TheBoard of Directors delegates the full responsibility of Schoolmanagement and implementation of the policies and directives to theHead of School. Further, the Head of School supervises and managesthe daily operations of the school. The Head of School is anon-voting member of the board and all board committees. Offers a report at Board Meetings on matters related tooperations, staff relations, school events, enrollments, communityengagements and other pertinent information Provides key status updates and collaborates with the Board todevelop long term strategic plans and establish policies andprocesses to accomplish the mission of the school Works with the Director of Business Operations regarding thecreation and direction of fiscally sound operating and capitalbudgets and financial plans to be recommended to the Board fortheir approval
Curriculum & Instruction:
Ensures all school related decisions maintain the Montessoriphilosophy and maintain that focus of the school Works with staff to identify curriculum needs related toteaching materials, faculty and program support Upholds the academic and ethical standards of the school Supports the professional development and additional trainingof the staff Observes regularly in classrooms at each level within theschool Supports the AMS recognition, consultation and accreditationprocesses Ensures the standards for recognition, accreditation andlicensing are maintained from year to year Oversee development and implementation of clear and timelycommunication with families
Personnel:
Fosters professionalism, team building, and ethical conduct inthe staff Assures the staff understand and share the school’s Montessoriphilosophy and goals Defines the faculty and staff positions needed to implement theschool’s program Recruits highly qualified faculty members Helps The Board with dismissals of faculty and staff who failto meet such standards Discipline, training and development of all professionalstaff Establishes practices and procedures to promote harmonious andconstructive relationships among staff, promoting high morale; Follows a collegial managerial style rather thanauthoritarian Identifies personnel issues as early as possible
Business,Finance and Facility Operations:
Works collaboratively with the Director of BusinessOperations Understands and assists with the business functions for theschool, including budgeting, monitoring and reporting of income,expenses, investments and cash flow, and maintenance of appropriaterecords Oversees all employment and human relations matters, such ascontracts, job assignments, job orientation, staff training,retention and dismissals, personnel records, etc. Oversees the maintenance and cleaning of the buildings,grounds, and all facility operations
Admissions:
Supervises and assists the enrollment and admissions functionsof the school Supports admission events and community outreach andfacilitates school tours Helps administer the school’s scholarship program Works to sustain optimal enrollment
Fundraising:
Plans and helps coordinate major fundraising events Supervises volunteer efforts to support the school’sfundraising Collaborates with committees and groups to support fundraisersand community service programs
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carriesout supervisory responsibilities in accordance with theorganization’s policies and applicable laws.
