This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of educational benefits for eligible students under the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Military Services Coordinator will ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies while providing exemplary support and guidance to students using VA educational benefits.
Key Responsibilities Certify Enrollment:
Review, certify, and submit veteran and dependent student enrollment information to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in a timely manner.
Maintain Knowledge:
Stay current on all VA educational programs, state and federal regulations, and University policies related to military-affiliated students. Liaison for
Payment Issues:
Act as a liaison between students and the VA, providing support to resolve payment issues and ensuring accurate processing of benefits.
Documentation Management:
Collect, prepare, and maintain required documentation in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policy and guidelines, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with various on and off-campus entities, such as the Veterans Affairs, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Life, and community organizations, to provide comprehensive support to military-affiliated students.
Student Advising:
Provide guidance and advisement to students regarding VA benefits, financial aid, and other University services.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies; prepare and submit necessary reports to the VA and other relevant institutions.
Training and Outreach:
Conduct workshops, orientations, and training sessions for students, staff, and faculty on VA educational benefits and services.
