The opportunity:
The Paper Mill Superintendent is responsible for managing the safety, reliability, cost, quality, productivity, and employee engagement in a goal-oriented environment. The position is responsible for the entire Paper Department at the Florence Mill and reports to the Operations Manager. How you will impact

Effectively manage production performance
Effectively partner with other departments of the mill and create an environment of teamwork
Providing leadership to department personnel to ensure overall safe operations
Oversees administration of salary workforce in the department area reading salary reviews, vacations, and work assignments Supports the continuing personal and professional development of department members Identifying developmental needs and facilitating training of department members
Planning and controlling production performance
Ensures properpany/union relations according to labor agreement
Troubleshooting quality and operational issues and developing systems and structures to avoid reoccurrences
Establish high level of performance by setting key departmental goals and objectives
Monitoringpliance with standard operating procedures
Ensuring quality systems are supported, in place, andply with required customer specifications
Coordinating efforts with Maintenance, Operations, and Technical Resource Departments as required
Identifying long term departmental improvement opportunities What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum 10-15 years of related operational experience with Pulp/Paper Industry At least 5-7 years of supervisory or management experience required
Strong leader with demonstratedmunication skills and a high sense of urgency and attention to detail
Any equivalentbination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential
Ability to direct continuous improvement in all areas, but with special emphasis on safety, environmental, quality, production, and cost
