JOB SUMMARY

This position serves as the Assistant Principal of Youth Leadership Academy. YLA is a charter school located in Pickens, SC that serves sixth through eighth grade students. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES

  • Support:

    To supervise and coordinate the logistical activity in the building and support of educational programs, school health, school safety, transportation, and other assigned activities. Supports work of principal duties. Serves as principal in the absence of the regular principal. 30%

  • Hiring:

    Assists in the hiring and recruiting of staff. Assists in the training and assigning of department personnel according to District procedures. Observes and evaluates teachers in their classrooms upon request of the principal, and offers insights for the enhancement of the teaching-learning situation. 20%

Administration:

Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school. Supervises and helps coordinate safety inspections and safety drills. Collects data and provides reports as directed by principal. Assumes responsibilities assigned by principal.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

00) Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
