School Principal – Clover School District
Job Overview
The Principal provides instructional leadership and effective management for school staff and students in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive educational program that follows all applicable laws, school board policies, administrative rules, and regulations. The Principal ensures that the school is a safe, inclusive, positive, and productive work and learning environment; coordinates school activities; communicates information to staff; and addresses situations, problems, and conflicts that could negatively impact the school or district.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree and adequately certified as a principal at the appropriate level by the South Carolina Department of Education. Must have at least three years of successful teaching experience. At least three years of experience as an assistant principal. Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership & Academic Excellence
Develop and implement instructional programs aligned with South Carolina Department of Education Standards and district goals.
Lead curriculum development and monitor instructional practices to improve student achievement.
Utilize data-driven decision-making to assess student progress and guide instructional improvements.
Support and mentor teachers through professional development, coaching, and performance evaluations.
School Management & Operations
Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and facility management.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal education policies, safety regulations, and district guidelines.
Implement school improvement plans focused on academic excellence and student engagement.
Manage and allocate resources effectively to support student learning and school programs.
Student Development & School Culture
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that supports student academic and social-emotional development.
Implement and enforce fair discipline policies while promoting positive behavior interventions and support systems.
Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities, leadership programs, and community service initiatives.
Staff Leadership & Professional Growth
Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality teachers and support staff.
Conduct evaluations and provide professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness.
Foster a collaborative and innovative school culture where staff feel supported and empowered.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, families, and community members to support student success.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding school initiatives, student progress, and district priorities.
Serve as a representative of the school in district meetings, community events, and local partnerships.

Terms of Employment:

240-day, full-time position with responsibilities extending beyond the school day for meetings, events, and professional development.
