The Oak Ridge School System seeks applicants for the position of principal for Oak Ridge High School. ORHS is in the Oak Ridge community, an educational and scientific center, located within the Knoxville, Tennessee metropolitan area. The school serves approximately 1,500 students in ninth through twelfth grade with a faculty of 147 staff members. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary High School Principal to lead our school community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational leadership, a passion for high academic achievement, and a commitment to our PLC process and CTE programming.
The ORHS principal is a twelve-month position with twenty-four (24) paid vacation days and ten (10) paid holidays. Salary ranges for this position are based on the
FY’26 HS
Principal Salary Schedule are $120,867 – $152,292. Salary will be negotiated within the prescribed range and will take into consideration training and experience. An applicant for this position must hold a minimum of a master’s degree and must have or be able to obtain a secondary Tennessee principal licensure. Preferred and proven experience as a high school administrator. There is no residency requirement with appointment.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the high school in the areas of curriculum, instruction and assessment
Foster a culture of high academic achievement and continuous improvement for all students. Implement and support the PLC process and utilize various forms of data to enhance teacher collaboration and student learning outcomes.
Oversee the development and implementation of a robust CTE program that prepares students for college and career success.
Assign, train, observe and evaluate all professional and non-professional staff in collaboration with relevant district personnel. Deliver professional development and technical assistance based on the needs of faculty and staff as articulated in the strategic plan. Manage school operations, including budgeting, staffing, and facilities management.
Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and school policies.
Promote a safe and inclusive school environment.
