Position Overview:
Maryville City Schools is searching for a leader to come alongside and empower the teachers, staff, and parents of Montgomery Ridge Intermediate School to work together to continue to provide an exemplary educational experience to the 850 students served in grades 4-7. It is imperative this candidate believes in a student-centered model and genuinely loves kids. Likewise, this person should focus on building strong relationships with all members of the MRIS family. The leader should be able to communicate goals and cast a vision to take this already high performing school to the next level through shared leadership, collaboration, high expectations, and shared accountability for the success of each child served.

Utilizes shared leadership and builds capacity to provide a focused vision, rigorous curriculum, and model of continuous improvement within the school
Creates and maintains a school climate that is welcoming, safe, respectful, and supports the needs of students
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders by being approachable, listening, asking the right questions, and collaborating to resolve problems
Performs the process of teacher evaluations with fidelity, providing timely and comprehensive feedback that leads to improved student achievement
Recruits, hires and develops staff members
Collaborates with educators to analyze multiple forms of student achievement and growth data to create and communicate specific goals and targeted strategies
Supports educators through collaborative designing of professional development, fostering teacher leaders, and effectively inducting new teachers
Supports best data-driven instructional practices
Manages fiscal resources efficiently and effectively according to the Tennessee Internal School Management Manual
Develops and implements logistical plans and protocols for school operations – school crisis management plan, master scheduling plan, arrival and dismissal plans
