Job Description Under the direction of the Program Director, Principal Faculty will actively participate in the in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the programs competencies, mission statement, goals, and curriculum, including selecting applicants for admission to the Program; participate in evaluating the Program for effectiveness; aid the program in meeting accreditation compliance requirements; develop course schedules, syllabi, and student evaluation mechanisms; perform other program duties as appointed
Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a masters degree in PA studies or related medical field;
  • Current NCCPA certification or other medically relevant certification; Current state licensure as a PA or other medically relevant field;
  • Professional oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of a doctoral degree in a medically related field;
  • Full time experience in higher education;
  • Teaching experience in classroom and clinical settings;
  • Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and for scholarly activity.

Job Duty Promote a positive learning environment for all students;
Job Duty Provide student instruction in a variety of formats for Didactic Phase courses;
Job Duty Assess student performance in a variety of assessments in the Didactic Phase;
Job Duty Provide remedial instruction for students identified to be at-risk or requiring remediation in the Didactic Phase;
Job Duty Assess student performance in the Didactic Phase and student readiness to progress to the Clinical Phase;
Job Duty Assess student performance in the Clinical Phase Cumulative Assessment and student readiness to progress to the Summative Evaluation;
Job Duty Assess student performance in the Summative Evaluation and student readiness to progress to Graduation;
Job Duty Provide student instruction in the area of pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics;
Job Duty Evaluate student performance in the area of pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics;
Job Duty Academic counsel of students in the area of pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics;
Job Duty Provide remedial instruction in the area of pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics;
Job Duty Serve as Course Director for one or more Didactic Phase courses;
Job Duty Design and revise course syllabi;
Job Duty Provide guidance to Block Leaders, Principal Faculty, and Instructional Faculty on the following: Course learning outcomes and instructional objectives, Depth and breadth of content to be covered, Format of instructional delivery, Format of assessment of student performance;
Job Duty Complete End-of-Course reports for assigned Didactic Phase courses and present conclusions based on data analysis and recommendations for action(s)/modification(s) to the Curriculum Committee;
Job Duty Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Didactic Phase Cumulative Assessment and the Summative Evaluation;
Job Duty Provide academic counseling to students enrolled in the Program;
Job Duty Assist in the review/revision of the Student Handbook and the Student Catalog as assigned;
Job Duty Participate in the Program s continuous self-assessment process as directed;
Job Duty Assist the Program Director in preparing documentation for the Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of the Physician Assistant, Inc (ARC-PA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) as requested.
Job Duty Participate in the following Program committees: Advisory Committee, Faculty Staff Committee, Curriculum Committee, Admissions Committee, and Student Progress Committee. Participate in LMU committees as assigned;
Job Duty Participate in the development, review, and revision of the Program s mission statement, goals, learning outcomes, and graduate competencies;
Job Duty Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum;
Job Duty Participate in Program organization, management, evaluation, and planning;
Job Duty Participate in the selection of student applicants for admission to the Program
Job Duty Consider opportunities to present curriculum format, delivery, and outcomes at professional meetings;
Job Duty Consider grant opportunities to support the curriculum;
Job Duty Maintain knowledge in PA practice, and other clinically relevant concepts through self-study, collaboration with colleagues and clinically practicing providers, attendance at relevant conferences, or other methods;
Job Duty Pursue anatomic, academic and or scholastic research opportunities;
Job Duty Collaborate with other programs, schools and or institutions for research opportunities;
Job Duty Support ongoing research projects within the program and school
Job Duty Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and members of the community;
Job Duty Promote a positive environment for student learning;
Job Duty Other responsibilities as directed by the PA Program Director
