Job Summary The Director oversees the Jordan Center’s operations, staff supervision, and program management while ensuring high-quality student support program which focuses on student mentoring, pre-college programs, and a case management process for program participants. Working collaboratively with the Executive Director for Academic Advising, deans, and campus partners, the Director focuses on increasing retention and graduation rates for all undergraduate students, particularly for first-generation, low-income, veterans, students with disabilities, and at-risk students. Responsibilities include coordinating with university departments, fostering cross-campus collaboration, assessing program effectiveness, managing fiscal transactions, approving expenditures, overseeing educational and engagement initiatives, and hiring, training, and evaluating staff. This role is integral to advancing ETSU’s commitment to student success and retention. It ensures that all students—especially first-generation, low-income students, veterans, students with disabilities, and those identified as at-risk—receive the guidance and support needed to thrive academically and complete their degrees. Knowledge of student success and retention issues in higher education and best practices related to supporting first-generation, low-income students, students with disabilities, veterans, and students identified as at-risk Required Qualifications Earned a master’s from a regionally accredited institution.
Minimum of five years of experience in college-level academic support services in such areas as TRIO, Educational Opportunities Programs, advisement, admissions, career counseling, or a related area, including at least two years in supervisory roles in one or more areas. Preferred Qualifications Experience using data analytics to inform best practices in a higher education institution
Demonstrated success in promoting electronic student success management systems in a higher education institution to advance student success.
Doctorate in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling, Social Work or another education- or student-services-related area
