Administrative Job Summary Responsible to the Director for overseeing and administering the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive student case management process for undergraduates that are identified as low-income, first-generation, and at-risk. Overseeing the preparation of a thorough and detailed student success plan for all project participants; providing personal and academic counseling; and overseeing the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive student support program plan. The Student Success Lead Specialist and Assistant Director serve as co-leads for the Jordan Center Pre-College Program’s planning, development, coordination, and implementation. This role is integral to advancing ETSU’s commitment to student success. It ensures that all students-especially first-generation, low-income students, veterans, students with disabilities, and those identified as at-risk-receive the guidance and support needed to thrive academically and complete their degrees. Knowledge of student success and retention issues in higher education and best practices related to supporting first-generation, low-income students, students with disabilities, veterans, and students identified as at-risk.
Must exhibit training, sensitivity, and commitment to the needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
Earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Education, Counseling, Social Work, or other education- or student-services-related area.
Five (5) years of experience in college-level academic support services in areas such as TRIO, Educational Opportunities Programs, advisement, admissions, social work, academic coaching, career counseling, student case management or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Education, Counseling, Social Work, or other education- or student-services-related area.
One-year supervisory experience in a related field.
Previous experience as a case manager coordinator in an educational setting.
Demonstrated success in utilizing electronic student success management systems within a higher education institution to enhance student outcomes. Experience with student success technologies (e.g., EAB Navigate, Banner, Degree Works, etc.)
Demonstrated success in increasing undergraduate student retention or graduation rates at a higher education institution.
