Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work, communicate, and collaborate with teachers, other school staff and families as part of a team within the school setting. Identify and address interferences that create barriers to a student’s learning. Establish objectives and develop and implement a program of instruction that meets the individual needs and abilities of students. Assess student abilities as related to desired educational goals, objectives and student outcomes and maintain appropriate evaluation documentation. Assist in the development of strategies that allow students to overcome identified interferences. Prepare and submit records and reports in a timely manner. Effectively communicate the findings and implications of data. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information. Assist with determining eligibility for special education services within a multidisciplinary team. Collaborate with school personnel to develop appropriate academic goals for students at school and at home. Maintain open communication concerning student’s progress with student’s core instruction teacher, curriculum coach, principal and other school personnel as needed. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve afunctional learning atmosphere in the classroom and school setting. Actively participate in and work with other school personnel in selection of instructional materials and the planning of effective instructional goals, objectives and methods Continually seek to improve professional knowledge and skills. Establish and maintain expertise in using technology such as data management, report writing, and data analysis. Use spreadsheets and other software programs to organize and track data. Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication. Maintain confidentiality of students, parents and school personnel. Engage in personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership. Maintain proper certification by attending college, workshop and professional development courses. Demonstrate ahigh degree of professionalism and ethics, working cooperatively with the Board, the Superintendent, administrators, certificated and non-certificated personnel, parents and students. Attend faculty meetings, instructional meetings as needed at schools, and other meetings as required by the Superintendent and/or administrators. Perform co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and other school related duties (hall, lunchroom, playground, drop-off and pick-up, bus, etc.) as assigned by the Superintendent. Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
