Elementary Homeroom Teacher Islamic Academy of Alabama Homewood, AL 35209 Overview The Islamic Academy of Alabama is currently seeking a passionate, student-centered Elementary Homeroom Teacher to join our dedicated team. This full-time position is responsible for teaching all core academic subjects (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) in a nurturing and academically rigorous environment. We are looking for candidates who are committed to fostering student growth, creating a positive classroom culture, and working collaboratively with colleagues and families to support student success. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons based on the Alabama State Standards Set clear academic and behavioral expectations through well-defined learning objectives Create, administer, and evaluate assessments to track student progress Build a classroom environment that promotes a growth mindset, respect, and a love for learning Maintain updated and organized lesson plans and instructional materials Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom updates Participate actively in faculty meetings, training sessions, and school-wide initiatives Collaborate with fellow educators to support school goals and student achievement Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred. Experience working with elementary-aged students is highly desirable. Strong skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and effective communication. Knowledge of early intervention techniques to support diverse learners. Ability to write clear educational materials and reports. Familiarity with literacy education strategies and math instruction methodologies is a plus. Proficiency in utilizing learning technology tools to enhance teaching practices.
