The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves teaching various levels of mathematics, developing engaging lesson plans, and supporting students in their academic growth. The Mathematics Teacher will play a crucial role in enhancing students’ understanding of mathematical concepts while also integrating literacy education and critical thinking skills into the curriculum. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Teach mathematics concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced topics, ensuring clarity and understanding among students. Utilize various instructional methods, including hands-on activities, technology integration, and collaborative learning techniques. Assess student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey. Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development and share best practices for teaching mathematics effectively. Provide support for students with special education needs, adapting lessons as necessary to ensure inclusivity. Engage in mentoring relationships with students, fostering their academic interests and encouraging them to pursue further studies in mathematics. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies related to mathematics instruction. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; teaching certification preferred. Proven experience in lesson planning and curriculum development specific to mathematics education. Familiarity with library services and resources that can enhance student learning experiences. Strong proofreading skills for reviewing instructional materials and student assignments. Knowledge of literacy education strategies that can be integrated into math instruction. Experience or coursework in early childhood education is a plus for those teaching younger students. Ability to incorporate physical education principles into math-related activities when appropriate. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively and foster a supportive classroom environment.
