Job Description:
Somerset Neighborhood School at Somerset Academy Central Miramar is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and highly motivated 1st Grade Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching all core subjects, including Reading, Writing (Language Arts) Math, Science, and Social Studies, while fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young learners.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in all core subject areas aligned with state and district standards. Assess, monitor, and document student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of individual students. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture. Build strong, supportive relationships with students and families. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administration to promote student success. Participate in relevant professional development and school events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field (required). Valid Florida teaching credential/certification for elementary education (required). Previous experience teaching at the elementary level preferred. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Demonstrated commitment to the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.
