We provide tutoring, summer camps, and youth development opportunities that help children thrive both in and out of the classroom. Position Summary We are looking for a compassionate, energetic, and committed 1st Grade Teacher to join our summer camp team. In this role, you will lead a classroom of rising 1st graders, guiding them through engaging academic enrichment, creative activities, and age-appropriate instruction that supports early literacy, numeracy, and social development. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate academic lessons aligned with early elementary standards. Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, confidence, and social-emotional growth. Implement hands-on learning activities that reinforce key concepts in reading, writing, math, and science. Support students in developing essential classroom routines, teamwork, and positive behavior. Track student participation and provide feedback to parents and camp leadership when needed. Collaborate with other staff to coordinate transitions, enrichment activities, and special events. Supervise students during classroom instruction, lunch, and transitions to ensure a safe environment. Qualifications Prior experience teaching or assisting in a 1st grade or early childhood classroom. Strong understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy development. Excellent classroom management and behavior support strategies. Ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of young children. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before camp begins. Preferred Bachelor’s degree or active coursework in Education, Child Development, or a related field. Florida teaching certificate (or in progress).
