Position Overview Hillel Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher who inspires curiosity, fosters a love of learning, and nurtures each child’s development in a respectful, engaging, and values-based environment. The ideal candidate brings experience in early childhood education, a deep understanding of developmental best practices, and a commitment to academic and social-emotional excellence. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with developmentally appropriate standards and school curriculum. Foster a warm, inclusive classroom that promotes safety, structure, and belonging for all students. Implement effective classroom management strategies rooted in kindness, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Assess student growth using a variety of tools and provide timely feedback to students and families. Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with behavioral, social-emotional, or developmental challenges. Communicate proactively and professionally with parents, collaborating to support student success. Participate actively in faculty meetings, Jewish holiday programming, and school-wide events. Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to curriculum development, school culture, and peer mentorship. Demonstrate ongoing commitment to professional learning and reflective teaching practices. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education (required). Experience working in early childhood or Kindergarten settings. Understanding of childhood development. Experience supporting children with exceptionalities is a strong plus. Comfort integrating Jewish values, holidays, and traditions into the classroom (support provided if needed). Strong written and verbal communication skills.
