2nd Grade Teacher Burns Science and Technology Charter School 160 Ridge Road, Oak Hill, FL 32759 Job Overview Burns is seeking a passionate and dedicated Second Grade Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of second-grade students. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, fostering a positive classroom culture, and maintaining strong communication with parents. A successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (or related field), a valid teaching certification, and preferably have experience teaching in an elementary school setting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a passion for working with young learners. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes respect among peers. Utilize behavior management techniques to maintain a productive learning atmosphere. Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and support staff to address individual student needs, including those with autism or other special requirements. Participate in curriculum development initiatives to enhance educational offerings. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices, including Montessori methods and literacy education strategies. Prepare students for standardized testing while ensuring a balanced approach to education. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred. Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development is highly desirable. Strong understanding of child development principles and effective teaching methodologies. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. A compassionate approach towards childcare and an ability to manage classroom behavior effectively. Knowledge of literacy education techniques and standardized testing preparation is advantageous.
