Elementary Literacy and Social Studies Educator 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 5855 Riverside Drive, Atlanta, GA 30327 Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to teach Literacy and Social Studies across grades K-4th , in a small classroom environment (up to 12 students per class, combined classes). This is a full-time position that involves working with mixed-grade groups and collaborating with classroom teachers to deliver engaging, well-rounded lessons grounded in the Science of Reading. Depending on the needs of each grade, instruction may take place in small groups or through classroom rotations. About Us We are a full Spanish immersion preschool and a dual immersion elementary school (K-4) . Our team includes a majority of native Spanish-speaking educators and and a strong group of bilingual office staff who bring their passion for working with children and their love for language and culture into the classroom each day. Our small class sizes in elementary support close relationships and individualized instruction in a culturally rich learning environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver evidence-based literacy instruction including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension Integrate social studies content through meaningful, literacy-rich experiences Plan and lead lessons that are hands-on, engaging, and incorporate movement and active learning Collaborate regularly with lead teachers and support staff to align instruction Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes curiosity and confidence Maintain communication with families and school leadership Support the overall functioning of the school as needed, including participation in school-wide events, meetings, etc. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Teaching certification preferred or prior elementary teaching experience 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience preferred Solid understanding of structured literacy and the Science of Reading Experience designing interactive, student-centered learning experiences Strong communication and classroom management skills Comfortable working with multiple grade levels and adapting instruction accordingly While we are not a Montessori school, we welcome applicants with Elementary Montessori training or experience, as this can support success in mixed-grade settings
