The teacher must be a highly professional, passionate and inspiring individual for high risk students. Reporting to and in partnership with the Principal, the classroom teacher provides a supportive, creative and stimulating environment where students thrive academically, socially, physically, spiritually and emotionally in a Christian faith-based atmosphere. Engage children in project work, learning centers, and hands on learning. Integrate Bible and Manners of the Heart throughout the curriculum. Create and execute motivating lessons that make subjects “come alive” for students, and help them feel positive about themselves and their abilities Work in partnership and collaboration with associate teachers and assistants in planning, developing curriculum, problem solving, special projects and teaching in a developmentally appropriate manner Be able to differentiate instruction so that lessons reach all students Use technology to track student progress as well as submit documentation per federal and state guidelines. Create an inclusive classroom environment through regular class meetings, supportive exchanges with students and clear expectations for community behavior. Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports and newsletters Be a positive role model for students and parents as a contributing member of the GCCS community.
