We are a pluralist co-educational Jewish day school serving students from families across a wide spectrum of Jewish beliefs and practices. Candidates for this position should demonstrate a passion for teaching young children as well as a deep understanding of how to design and run an academic program that meets the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of young children. You will teach reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science, as well as skills acquisition. We are looking for people with excellent communication, organization, and class management skills as well as a demonstrated desire to work collaboratively with colleagues in the classroom to create a joyful learning community. Responsibilities Build an inclusive community of learners and a classroom culture that is based on authentic relationships and structured, explicit expectations Develop curriculum, implement best practices, and differentiate instruction in the areas of Language Arts and Social Studies Evaluate the progress of students and discuss progress results with students, parents and administrators Develop course materials and curriculum content that is rich, engaging and innovative, with a focus on student needs Set up and maintain a classroom space that supports a project based approach to instruction and that works to integrate general and Hebrew/Judaic studies Identify children’s individual learning needs and design learning experiences to support them Read and implement accommodations and/or modifications as specified on student Learning Plans Work with other classroom teachers and learning specialists to ensure a cohesive, loving classroom environment Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; a master’s degree is preferred Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience required Ability to create an inclusive classroom including knowledge/training in supporting students with neurodivergent profiles Adept at SEL methods to help students thrive; previous experience with Responsive Classroom and/or similar programs of instruction preferred Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively Familiarity with classroom uses of technology is a plus Skills Experience with a range of programs and tools for teaching literacy including phonics, word study, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension skills Demonstrated ability to scaffold instruction and provide appropriate challenges according to students’ needs and learning styles Ability to integrate multicultural perspectives into teaching Familiarity with active learning through an inquiry-based, reflective, student-centered approach to teaching and learning Commitment to ongoing professional development Benefits This is a part time position working 16-20 hours per week. Salary range is $23,000-$35,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Time off for all Jewish and national holidays; early release on Fridays Potential for full time work in the 2026-2027 school year, which would include a comprehensive benefits package
