Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1st Grade Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, fostering positive relationships with students, and effectively managing the classroom. The teacher will deliver a comprehensive curriculum with a strong focus on Math and English Language Arts (ELA).

Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:

Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state and national standards. Teach Math and ELA curriculum, ensuring all students grasp essential concepts and skills. Utilize various instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning experiences. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs and learning objectives. Encourage and promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Student Relationships:

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Build strong, respectful, and supportive relationships with students. Encourage student participation and engagement in all classroom activities. Address individual student needs and provide appropriate support and interventions.

Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior. Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. Address behavioral issues promptly and fairly, using positive reinforcement and conflict resolution techniques. Create a structured and organized classroom routine that promotes learning and minimizes disruptions.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. Use assessment data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement. Prepare and maintain accurate records of student performance and development.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum changes. Contribute to the development and improvement of school policies and programs. Attend and contribute to staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events. Serve as a role model for students, demonstrating professionalism, ethical behavior, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
