Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public School (WCA), opened in August 2023, currently serves students in grades K5. As an EL (Expeditionary Learning) Education school, we are committed to hands-on, project-based learning that develops students mastery of knowledge and skills, strong character, and the ability to produce high-quality work. In partnership with local cultural institutions such as the EcoTarium, Worcester Art Museum, Old Sturbridge Village, and Hanover Theatre, we bring learning to life for our students.
Position Overview:
WCA is seeking a talented and culturally responsive Elementary Teacher to join our growing team for the 20252026 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape an innovative school community and work closely with students, families, and staff in a diverse, vibrant city.
We are especially interested in candidates who reflect the cultural diversity of Worcester and who have experience working with English Language Learners and students with IEPs.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking, ownership, discovery, and joy.
Set high expectations for all students and differentiate instruction using culturally responsive practices.
Teach targeted intervention lessons to support students academic growth.
Communicate regularly and proactively with families to support student success.
Actively support WCAs mission as an anti-racist, inclusive school, and demonstrate a “whatever it takes” attitude for student achievement.
Collaborate with colleagues, use data to inform instruction, and participate in school-wide planning and professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (required); Masters degree preferred.
Massachusetts Elementary Education Certification (Grades 16) or subject matter MTEL passed.
SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsement (required).Commitment to team-based, mission-driven school culture.
Strong problem-solving skills, persistence, and initiative in the face of challenges.
Ability to make decisions that prioritize student needs and the school community.
Ability to pass DESE-mandated CORI and fingerprint background checks.
