The major responsibility of this position is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program according to the guidelines provided by The O’Neal School curriculum which guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Have knowledge of, uphold, model, and communicate the mission of The O’Neal School. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons appropriate to each subject. Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of students. Stay abreast of developments in the field through reading, research, and professional development, including faculty development days. Liaise and collaborate with colleagues, including Division Head, fellow teachers, counselor, and other resources. Participate in sponsorship of student extracurricular activities.

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Previous experience teaching elementary school, preferably in third grade. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills related to interactions with students, parents, and fellow teachers. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and an adherence to timeliness. All employees hired by The O’Neal School must have legal authorization to work in the United States and must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
