Wilmington School of the Arts is seeking a committed, team-oriented early elementary teacher (we have potential openings in kinder and first grades) to deliver ELA and Math instruction in a classroom. These classrooms operate with one full time certified teacher, and one paraprofessional/instructional assistant. Wilmington school of the Arts is a small tight knit family feel, with very active families and staff members. Our focus is on the whole child and meeting each child on their level, while also encouraging academic and social emotional growth. We are seeking an individual who is excited to collaborate with a team, their students, and families.
Basic Requirements:
All academic lead teachers must have a degree in education o in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
They must also have the:
Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students, particularly when students are participating in an inclusive activity. Ability to motivate students. Ability to create and implement lesson plans using curriculum. Ability to teach using a project based approach and collaborate on a team. Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Ability to perform general clerical duties. Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom. Ability to operate common office machines. Ability to maintain basic files and records. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
