    Job Description
Overview:

The Lancaster Central School District is searching for an innovative, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to serve our District as Technology (Industrial Arts) teacher. We are interested in a candidate that has the ability to work with students while effectively collaborating with the administration, faculty and staff towards the improvement of our instructional programming.
Job Qualifications
New York State Certification as a Technology (Industrial Arts) teacher.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice, current formative data and specially designed instruction.
  • Knowledge of both engineering and home repair.
  • Individualize learning experiences, as appropriate, create flexible grouping for the learning experience. Observe and evaluate students’ performance in meeting grade-level standards.
  • Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans, making learning targets clear with students for each lesson as appropriate.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary techniques.
  • Meet course, grade level and district performance goals.
  • Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities.
  • Utilize a curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students being served.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay abreast of current topics in education.
  • Work collaboratively with administrators, department chairs and colleagues to create a positive work environment that promotes student achievement.
  • Develop and utilize various curriculum resources and participate in curriculum writing/modification sessions.
  • Attend and participate in Project Lead the Way (PLTW) training for the appropriate course/grade level being taught.
