Elementary/Middle school Math Teacher Lighten Academy 20 Miller Place, Syosset, NY 11791 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for young students. This role involves educating and nurturing children in their formative years, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development. The Elementary School Teacher will create engaging lesson plans and implement effective teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards. Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom environment. Provide individualized tutoring and support to students who require additional assistance. Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt instruction as necessary. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and education administration to support student success. Create a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation. Engage in early intervention strategies for students who may need additional support. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with parents. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills. Experience A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Experience working with elementary-aged students in an educational setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with lesson planning, classroom management, and educational best practices. Skills in proofreading educational materials for clarity and accuracy are beneficial. Knowledge of early intervention techniques to support diverse learning needs is an asset. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
