We are a small, faith-based school that prides itself on meeting the needs of individual students. The position is full-time and requires a bachelor’s degree in education or early childhood, along with experience working with young children. As the kindergarten teacher, you will be responsible for the early education and development of your students. Your role will be to provide a nurturing and safe environment where children develop social skills and learn through play . You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons to engage children in learning activities that meet their individual needs. You will need to be skilled in communication and problem-solving to work closely with parents, administrators, and other teachers. A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education is preferred, along with experience working with young children. Responsibilities Create developmentally, grade appropriate and engaging lesson plans which utilize given curricula (Next Generation Standards, Wonders for Reading and Phonics, GoMath, Writing Without Tears) combined with center based and project-based learning Plan and teach the language arts, math, science, and social studies with a focus on purpose and relevance Provide a secure environment to learn, care for and support for the development needs of each child – using differentiation to assist the development of a child’s personal, social and language abilities, speech and communication, literacy, mathematical and creative development Work with students to develop social and emotional skills by encouraging group activities and positive behavior Consistently differentiate for individual students based on their unique learning needs: through observation, regular assessments as well as using iReady in class and for end of trimester assessments Use of iReady in lessons and assessments in each trimester to track and monitor progress as well as to highlight areas of need Communicate with a focus on timely communications with families, including using Dojo to highlight activities in class Assessing students’ learning and identifying areas where they need additional support or challenge Providing accommodations for students with individual needs or disabilities Collaborating with other teachers and school staff to support student success Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education ​ Attend and participate in weekly curriculum planning meetings, Back to School Night, and formal Family-Teacher Conferences (in fall and spring) Participate in faculty meetings, and additional duties as assigned Salary and Benefits • Salary commensurate with experience Reports to: •
