Position Summary The Kindergarten Teacher will design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Pennsylvania state standards and MRCS’s Montessori-based educational approach. The ideal candidate embraces MRCS’s mission and vision and is committed to continuous learning, collaboration, and upholding a respectful, engaging, and student-centered environment.
Education/Certification Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in
Elementary Education Certification:
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification Core Responsibilities Academic Instruction Plan and implement engaging daily and weekly lessons. Incorporate Montessori principles by encouraging independence, personal responsibility, and student choice where appropriate. Adapt lessons and activities to meet the diverse development of all learners. Student Development and Engagement Assist students with their academic and personal growth through positive reinforcement, modeling, and mentoring. Classroom & Environment Management Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive environment during all instructional activities. Demonstrate grace and courtesy in all communications, in line with MRCS culture. Guide students in maintaining the Montessori principles of an Ordered, Organized, and Beautiful environment. Assist with transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal as needed. Collaboration & Communication Coordinate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administration to support whole-child development. Attend IEP meetings and collaborate on accommodations for students with individualized needs. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom updates. Record Keeping & Compliance Track daily attendance and maintain records of student progress and performance. Document communication with parents, transportation plans, assessments, and interventions as needed. Professional Expectations
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to Elementary and Kindergarten Education and the Montessori Philosophy.
