Job Description
Saint Mary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. As a Catholic school, we are committed to providing a nurturing and faith-based educational environment that fosters the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Catholic education, and possess the skills to engage and inspire young learners.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the school’s curriculum, incorporating Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction.
Create a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to participate.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying abilities and learning styles.
Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a productive learning environment and address behavioral issues promptly and appropriately.
Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians to support student learning and development.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends and best practices.
Foster a sense of community and teamwork among students, parents/guardians, and colleagues, promoting a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
Integrate technology into instruction to enhance learning and prepare students for success in the digital age.
Actively participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and religious ceremonies as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Valid teaching certification/license in Rhode Island (or eligible for reciprocity).
Previous experience teaching elementary school students, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
Deep understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions.
Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
Passion for teaching and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of students.
Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to embrace the mission and ethos of the school.
