Description:

Mechanical Engineering Faculty Position at Tulane Tulane University invites applications for a full-time Professor of Practice in mechanical engineering. Our department is pursuing interdisciplinary excellence through integrating physics and core engineering disciplines. We seek to substantially grow our mechanical engineering program in coming years, including the launch of a minor in Mechanical Engineering alongside our established Engineering Physics undergraduate major and Materials Physics & Engineering PhD program. As a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), Tulane is committed to research and education at the highest levels. We are also searching for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in mechanical engineering this year. The Professor of Practice (PoP) is a non-tenured full time academic year (nine month) teaching position (3,3 load) with a renewable 3-year appointment. It carries a competitive salary and benefits commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications. Faculty promoted to Senior PoP serve renewable 5-year terms. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in energy, manufacturing, materials, mechanics, or robotics.
