Position Summary
This position will teach the Related Studies – English coursework to students. The Related Studies instructor position is full-time under the direct supervision of the Dean of Instruction and/or Associate Dean of Instruction. The list below is the primary responsibilities of this position; however, other professional duties may be assigned by the Dean of Instruction and/or Associate Dean of Instruction to meet the College’s needs.
This position will cover the Northern Region of the state.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Organizes program of instruction studies in subject areas, including demonstrations of how related skills are used in each student’s file and lectures on theory, techniques, and terminology.
Instruct students in subject areas such as mathematics,munication skills, and work habits.
Plans and supervises the work of students, individually or in small groups, classroom or laboratory.
Assesses and evaluates achievement of students in subject kledge.
Maintains all records and provides reports as directed by the Dean of Instruction or his/her designee.
Serves onmittees as needed.
Travels daily to various ISTC instructional sites (a current, valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) is required).
Must be eligible to enter any/all Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities and Pardons and Paroles Facilities to perform job duties and maintain this status for continued employment.
Possesses a sensitivity andmitment to cultural diversity.
Complies with any applicable guidelines and policies set forth by the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and J.F. Ingram State Technical College.

Salary Range:
Salary will be determined by placement on the appropriate Alabama Community College System-approved salary schedule. D2 $39,702 – $80,685 for a nine-month contract; summer employment may be available, dependent on enrollment. D2 $15.407 – $ 31,355 for a three-month contract.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch.
