Secondary Humanities Curriculum Teacher The Hillsboro School 73 Elvira Road, Helena, AL 35080 Job Summary We are looking for a high-energy person with a passion for education, love for children, and excellent communication skills. Our ideal candidate would be a lifelong learner themselves who is enthusiastic about Humanities subjects (ELA, literature & history) and can teach them in a hands-on, engaging way. We are looking to fill the Secondary Humanities (12-18 years) classroom teacher position. Secondary Teacher responsibilities include : Implement a spiral curriculum to expose students to many interrelated topics, repeatedly over time. Create a warm environment for the students Foster and support cooperation and collaboration within the adolescent community Plan, prepare and maintain units of study lessons Maintain individual student record Foster teacher/student/peer interactions that exhibit respect, and grace, and courtesy Collaborative work with co-teachers Implement developmentally appropriate and best practices Requirements for this position are: Bachelor’s degree in Humanities is required Experience working with 12-18 year old children
