The ideal candidate will inspire students through innovative teaching methods and foster a supportive learning environment. This role requires a commitment to promoting literacy, creativity, and critical thinking among students while encouraging their personal and academic growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards. Teach subjects such as literacy education, creative writing, math, and journalism. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Mentor students in their academic pursuits and provide guidance on personal development. Assess student performance through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback. Utilize organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively and maintain an orderly environment. Incorporate Montessori principles where applicable to enhance student learning experiences. Stay current with educational trends and best practices, including adherence to the Chicago Manual Style for writing instruction. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred. Experience working with high school students in an educational setting. Strong background in literacy education, creative writing, math, or journalism is highly desirable. Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
