We are in search of a passionate and experienced High School English Teacher to join our talented faculty team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop strong literacy skills, an appreciation for literature, and the ability to express themselves effectively through written and spoken language.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with school and state standards for high school English. Teach a range of courses, which may include literature, composition, creative writing, and advanced placement levels. Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, discussion, and exploration of diverse perspectives. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess and evaluate student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support improvement. Integrate technology and other innovative resources into the classroom to enhance learning. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and enrich the curriculum. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and any concerns. Participate actively in department meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events. Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of the English department curriculum.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field Valid teaching certification/licensure in English Proven experience teaching English at the high school level. Strong knowledge of literature, writing pedagogy, and adolescent development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a dynamic and positive classroom environment that supports learning for all students. Strong organizational skills and classroom management abilities. Commitment to professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
