Northern Palms is part of City of Palms Charter HS, Inc, a 501(c)3 Not-for-profit corporation currently operating three alternative high schools in Lee County Florida. Our alternative program allows students that are not on track to graduate with their cohort class an opportunity to earn a Florida state-recognized diploma to the age of 21 (22, if ESE). Students work at their own pace taking only the courses they need to meet graduation requirements. Teachers work with students as they complete online courses in a subject-area classroom. CPCHS, Inc is seeking a qualified individual to teach in a high school in the North Fort Myers, FL area. The Teacher will be responsible for implementing the instructional plan and supporting the implementation of the instructional plan in a classroom.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Education, English or related field preferred) Valid FL teaching certificate Strong knowledge of teaching methods and curriculum. Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and teachers. Ability to work well with others and be part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging English/Language Arts instruction that meets the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of alternative high school students Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment focused on student learning and personal growth Guide the learning process by setting clear instructional objectives and communicating these to students Regularly assess and report student progress; provide timely feedback Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration to develop and implement school-wide curriculum goals and improvement initiatives Engage positively with parents, guardians, and community members to support student achievement and school culture Use technology to enhance learning and instruction Counsel, guide, and motivate students — helping them overcome obstacles and discover their potential Uphold school rules and expectations with fairness, consistency, and care Remain vigilant for signs of student distress and follow established safety and reporting procedures Maintain accurate and timely records as required by school and district policies Actively participate in professional development, training, and staff meetings
