Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida is seeking an Instructor for the Intensive English Institute (Center for Global Engagement), with duties focused on preparing internationals for university admissions to FAU and serving language learners who are seeking language training for other academic and professional goals. This includes teaching about 20 contact hours per week; assisting the Director with academic coordination, testing and placement, student advising, student events, and other related tasks; participating in faculty meetings and other departmental or individual meetings and committee assignments; and holding regular office hours and meetings/conferences with students, as needed. Minimum Qualifications:

Position requires a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, or a closely related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in teaching English to non-native English speakers from an accredited institution required. Position also requires two (2) years of experience teaching ESL courses for university preparation at various levels.

Transcripts:

The selected candidate for this position is required to submit an official transcript sent directly from the institution for the Provost’s credential file prior to the first day of employment. Similarly, for degrees from outside the United States, the evaluation by an organization belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES), with an indication of the documents the evaluation was prepared from (official transcripts, diplomas, dissertation abstracts) is required for the Provost’s credential file prior to the first day of employment.
