Full Job Description Description:

Indian Rocks Christian School (IRCS) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Christian educator to teach 5th Grade English and Language Arts. The ideal candidate will have a heart for Christ-centered education and a commitment to teaching from a biblical worldview while inspiring students academically and spiritually. To help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God in keeping with the Mission Statement. Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry. Teach assigned classes according to the schedule set by the Administration, promoting critical thinking and a biblical understanding of concepts. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ELA lessons that align with the school’s curriculum standards. Teach key literacy components including reading comprehension, literature analysis, writing composition, grammar, and vocabulary. Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom culture that encourages student growth academically, socially, and spiritually. Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles. Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments; provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to support student learning and development. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff on curriculum planning, Engage in school, church, and community activities. Maintain compliance with school policies and uphold high standards of ethics and conduct. Maintain classroom discipline and ensure student safety.

Requirements:

A collaborative, supportive leader who shows humility, drive, emotional intelligence, positivity, and loyalty to the IRCS vision and mission A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, English, or related field (Master’s preferred). At least two years of technical training or experience is preferred The individual must stay updated on training requirements and communicate changes to the Supervisor and Human Resources Director. It is the staff member’s responsibility to remain current with ACSI accreditation standards. Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by regular attendance in worship services, regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, and commitment to systematic stewardship and faithful in tithing.
