The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching English language and literature, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves engaging students in meaningful discussions, developing their writing skills, and enhancing their understanding of the English language. The English Teacher will also contribute to curriculum development and participate in educational research initiatives. One teacher for Level 1 (beginners) One teacher for Levels 2 and 3 (intermediate) Teachers will work with adult learners in small, supportive classroom settings. Curriculum support is provided. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourage student participation and engagement. Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects; provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and share best practices. Incorporate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences. Create a welcoming, encouraging classroom environment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus. Experience teaching ESL or English to adults is highly desirable. Familiarity with adult language education is beneficial for teaching various age groups effectively. Knowledge of social work principles can aid in addressing student needs holistically. Strong writing skills and the ability to educate students on effective communication techniques are essential. A commitment to research-based teaching practices that promote student success is highly valued. Bilingual (English/Spanish) – required; Proficiency in another language can enhance communication with diverse student populations.

TESOL/TEFL/CELTA
