The academic classroom instructor reports to the appropriate Division Chairperson, Dean, or Vice President. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 1. Makes adequate and appropriate preparation for all teaching responsibilities.2. Utilizes a variety of instructional methods and available instructional technology to facilitate the achievement of learning outcomes for each course assigned.3. Serves as faculty advisor for students assigned to him/her as part of the overall academic/career-tech advisement program and attends trainings to stay current with the latest advising updates/information.4. Attends all scheduled faculty meetings and division/departmental meetings.5. Participates in the district-wide curriculum development process and selection of textbooks and supporting instructional material.6. Keeps accurate records of student progress and student attendance in class and is prompt and accurate in submitting student information as required.7. Assists in maintaining established standards of student conduct and classroom decorum; takes appropriate action when necessary, in accordance with established policy.8. Participates in professional organizations and other activities that enhance and contribute to professional growth.9. Supports, attends, and participates in college activities.10. Establishes and keeps office hours in accordance with college policy.11. Assists with pre-registration on the scheduled dates during the summer months.12. Serves on committees as assigned.13. Follows the established policies and procedures of the college so as to enhance the instructional program, facilitate administration, and promote student well-being.14. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Master’s degree in the subject to be taught or a Master’s degree and 18 graduate course hours in the subject to be taught.

 The work environment is an office/classroom setting with moderate noise.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
