NOT remote. Must work from designated CCS location.
Summary
Under general supervision, plans, organizes and presents instruction and instructional environments which help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. Delivers online instruction to students in accordance with assigned teaching schedule, which may include synchronous, asynchronous, and/or blended instruction formats. Required education, training, and experience
Bachelor’s degree and licensed by the state of North Carolina in the grade levels and areas assigned. Online teachers also must have excellent computer skills and have an intuitive belief in their ability to communicate virtually. Teachers must be prepared to spend more time on-line with students, teaching and directing, than would be customary for a normal classroom teacher. Preferred qualifications
It is preferred, but not required, for teachers to have a minimum of three years teaching experience in the selected content. Essential duties and responsibilities
Post daily instructional assignments, including periodic virtual assessments, via designated learning management system and record accurate daily attendance
Host online Zoom meetings for synchronous classes/office hours promptly at specified days and times of the week
Assist students in problem-solving simple to moderate connection/log-in issues, including calling Technology Support as needed.
Grade submitted assignments daily Follow and document

Guidelines Provide prompt and meaningful instructional feedback on each assignment Participate in department and PLC meetings Submit grade/progress reports by due date Participate in all required professional development Post instructional announcements daily Attend and complete all required meetings/ trainings Adhere to all current district policies and guidelines Adhere to all copyright laws and Fair Use Guidelines
Communicate with parents through a variety of means
Identify student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
Perform other related work as required.

Requires the ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical or professional languages including medical, legal, and counseling terminology.
