No need to re-apply) Teaches assigned courses and performs related administrative and recordkeeping duties. Reports to the Instructional Coordinator, Networking & Cyber Security. This is a seated position and must be on campus for teaching and advising students. This is not a remote position. Assists in maintaining the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity designation and the Pitt Community College Cyber Center. Assists in ensuring the degree program meets all designation criteria. Leads outreach activities and provides professional development opportunities to faculty and students as part of the Pitt Community College Cyber Center. Essential Job Functions Instructor teaches assigned teaches assigned courses in Computer Technologies. Job duties include organizing a semester course following departmental guidelines, creating course materials (tests, handouts, lectures, slides, assignments, rubrics, activities, group work, etc.), determining a fair grading system, setting up materials on Moodle (gradebook, notes, assignments, etc.), setting up materials in publisher platforms if necessary (homework, quizzes, study guides, etc.), setting up policies compliant with departmental and school regulations, holding student conferences as needed, and creating lesson plans. Instructors keep attendance using Web Attendance Tracking, complete progress reports as required, correspond with students and supervisors through email, submit grade and attendance reports as required, work with students registered with the Office of Accessibility, and be accessible to supervisors by phone and email. Assists in maintaining the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity designation and the Pitt Community College Cyber Center. Assists in ensuring the degree program meets all designation criteria. Leads outreach activities and provides professional development opportunities to faculty and students as part of the Pitt Community College Cyber Center. Qualifications or Standards Associate degree in Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related discipline required. All coursework must be from regionally accredited institutions. At least one (1) current professional certification listed on the DoD 8570.01-m IA Level 2 approved baseline (CompTIA Security+, (ISC)² SSCP, CompTIA CySA+, or EC-Council CND) required. One to two years of teaching experience and/or work experience in IT Security; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Bilingual language skills preferred.

Minimum Training and Experience Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of types of office and other equipment including personal computers, file servers, internet servers, PDA, calculator, copier, audio-visual equipment, etc. Must be physically able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work; position requires walking, standing, stooping, reaching, crouching, fingering, etc. for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of approximately fifty pounds.

Interpersonal Communication:

Requires the ability to read a variety of documents, reports, and various books such as various manuals, PCC handbook and catalog, various texts, PCC FACT book, etc. Requires the ability to prepare various documents and reports such as lesson plans, grade/evaluation reports, attendance report, end-of semester reports, long-range plans, etc., using the proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar. Requires the ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisor, subordinates, other PCC personnel, etc. with poise, voice control, and confidence. Requires the ability to be conversant in the theory, principles, and methods of effective and persuasive speaking, voice and diction, phonetics, and discussion and debate. Requires the ability to be conversant in the language of information technology-all areas: internet, web development, networking/telecommunications, programming, and software/hardware maintenance.

Intelligence:

Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Must be able to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Requires the ability to apply rational systems such as education (teaching), business administration, computer applications, etc., in order to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

Verbal Aptitude:

Requires the ability to record and deliver information and to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to instruct others via effective verbal communication.

Numerical Aptitude:

Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers; determine percentages and decimals; and determine time and weight.

Form/Spatial Aptitude:

Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width and shape.

Motor Coordination:

Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes in utilizing automated office and audio-visual equipment, etc.

Manual Dexterity:

Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, office equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. Must have moderate levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.

Color Discrimination:

Requires the ability to differentiate colors and shades of color.

Interpersonal Temperament:

Requires the ability to deal with people beyond receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under moderate stress when confronted with an emergency.

Physical Communication:
