Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for middle and high school students (grades 7-10). Develop innovative instructional strategies, including projects, discussions, and writing workshops. Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment. Use a variety of assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed. Collaborate with colleagues, special education staff, and administrators. Participate in weekly staff meetings and occasional school events. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, on-site position (7:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday). Fridays are devoted exclusively to electives, hands-on learning, and community experiences (not core academics). Occasional evening or weekend events (limited and announced in advance).
Required:
Strong knowledge of middle and high school English curriculum and instruction. Passion for teaching and student success. Ability to manage a classroom with positivity and structure.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field. Valid New Hampshire Teaching Certification in English. Experience in a public school setting. Familiarity with educational technology tools (Alma and Google Classroom).
