Job Description:

Main Tasks and Responsibilities Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned to curricular goals Teach 10 periods per week, including listening, speaking, close reading, textual analysis vocabulary, writing Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies Maintain accurate and complete records Knowledge & Skills Strong student relationships and engagement Effective classroom management Student accountability Adept at meeting the needs of all students Foster a learning environment of engagement and interest Effective communicator Familiarity with Understanding by Design a plus Traits Caring, patient, professional Solutions-oriented, resourceful Confident and warm Understands the needs of tween and teen students Love of learning Creative and reflective Enthusiasm for literature and writing

Training & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in English or related major (Master’s degree preferred) Minimum teaching experience: successful long-term sub position in middle school.
