Until filled English / Communications Teacher William Tennent High School Term of Employment – As Per the CEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. $52,968 to $81,664 reflective of the 25/26 CBA Salary Schedule To instruct students in film and video/digital media production to include basic camera functions, composition and framing, storyboarding, scripting, basic sound recording, and non-linear editing (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred), as well as web-based applications for beginning video editing courses.
Qualifications:
Valid PA Certification in English (7-12) or Communications (7-12); certification in Communications (7-12) preferred. Knowledge and ability to teach TV production, including live streaming, audio production, and studio lighting. Working knowledge of latest video production equipment and software, including Apple computers, Adobe Suite, HD cameras, Tricaster software, etc. Experience working as an instructor or specialist with students at appropriate grade level and in subject area preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Team oriented, energetic, and creative. Ability to integrate technology into instructional delivery. Exceptional classroom management, organization, planning, instructional delivery, leadership, and technical skills and the ability to utilize differentiated instructional methods to engage students in positive learning experiences. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy, knowledge of Pennsylvania’s Academic Standards and a sound understanding of how to prepare, direct and guide instruction to secondary students. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; to plan and implement lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and build relationships with students and parents to promote student achievement and strengthen community partnerships. Term of Employment – 191 days/10 months All employment is provisional for 90 days as required by ACT 168 of 2014, enacted December 22, 2014.
