Position:
The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position in the area of Intelligence and Security, with appointment beginning Fall 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator and leader who wants to help grow new educational programs and a research office in intelligence and security. The candidate will join a group of recently hired faculty in these fields and benefit from a strongly supportive Huntsville community.
Responsibilities:
This position involves both teaching and administrative responsibilities. The candidate will teach courses in new undergraduate and graduate programs in intelligence and security and also serve as Director of the Office of Intelligence and Security. The Director role will focus on growing these undergraduate and graduate programs, and associated educational offerings (e.g., non-credit courses, summer institutes), and developing the Office of Intelligence and Security with a goal of becoming a research center. The Director will work with the Dean and faculty to implement a strategic vision for the Office and associated educational programs, develop partnerships and networks with government and industry professionals, and find innovative ways to expand capabilities, including by securing external funding.
Qualifications:
A master’s degree in a discipline represented by the departments within the UAH College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (or a related field) is required, with a PhD preferred. Experience working in intelligence and security, and the ability to work closely with government and industry partners, is required. University teaching experience preferred.
