$57.5K – $75.1K a year 1 day ago Qualifications History Doctoral degree Doctor of Philosophy Senior level Teaching Under 1 year Full Job Description Department African American Studies Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach both lower and upper division undergraduate courses and contribute to the development of new and innovative offerings within the curriculum. In addition to teaching and mentoring undergraduates, the position entails meaningful service to the African American Studies Program, including participation in curriculum development, student engagement initiatives, and support for activities such as the Ankh Maat Wedjau Honor Society, AFA internship program, and community outreach efforts. Qualifications Completion of all Ph.D. requirements except the dissertation at the time of application. Completion of Ph.D.in an appropriate field of specialization by August 1, 2026. Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute courses in one or more of the following areas: African diaspora studies Social Relations History Research methods The criminal justice system Applied or community-based learning Other Information African American Studies is an interdisciplinary program that offers three major tracks and a minor. The program utilizes faculty from several departments within and beyond the College.
