Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Geosciences at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#125080) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to provide classroom lectures and related lab instruction primarily for lower division introductory courses in earth science, environmental science, and physical geography as needed to satisfy a full-time teaching workload. This position will be 100% teaching with no obligation for research or service. Required Education A master’s degree in geosciences or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. Other Desirables Applicants with previous college-level teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence will receive special consideration.
