General Description The Graduate Assistant in the Malone Center responds to requests from faculty for closed captioning services and promotes accessibility for UM students and ensures ADA compliance. This position will be concurrent with the Fall 2025 semester. Essential Job Duties 1. Create accurate and high quality transcripts and captioned videos for campus courses using Word and editing software such as Camtasia. 2. Represent the Malone Center to students and faculty with professionalism, positive customer service skills. 3. Process requests from patrons of the Malone Center, including processing requests for Closed Captioning Services. 4. Follow departmental guidelines to ensure ADA compliance.
5. Edit and supervise the work of others. Education and Experience Bachelors Degree
Currently enrolled in Graduate Studies at UM Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities 1. Possess detail oriented editing skills. 2. Ability to learn new computer programs. Experience with editing software is preferred. 3. Excellent keyboarding/typing skills. 4. Knowledge of MS products. 5. Ability to manage ones time and keep an organized digital space.
