Job Summary
The HBCU-UP Summer Bridge Program is a four-week summer initiative designed to prepare incoming undergraduate STEM majors at ASU for academic success. The program focuses on college-level mathematics, English, and natural sciences, while also enhancing students’ technological and presentation skills. Through hands-on learning, lab activities, and field trips, participants develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, culminating in an exit project that applies their acquired knowledge.
Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
Faculty Mentor
Responsibilities
Serve the project as the mentors of the incoming student cohort (Summer Bridge participants) during the academic year.
Qualifications
A master’s degree or doctoral degree in a STEM related field.
Experience in teaching or mentoring undergraduate students in STEM disciplines.
Student Assistant
Responsibilities
Assist with the Project Team with the day-to-day business activities.
Assist in the management and organization of the project activities including the Summer Bridge Program, STEM Olympics, Professional Development Workshops, etc.
Participate in the professional development and mentoring workshops.
Assist the Faculty Mentors with necessary support and mentorship for the Cohort students.
Qualifications
Students must be a STEM major.
Students must be a Junior or Senior.
Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
