Lab Assistant for Allied Health Program Adams County Technical Institute 1126 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325 Lab Assistant for Allied Health Program The Adams County Technical Institute is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse with excellent skills and knowledge who would enjoy working with high school students interested in the health care field as part of our Allied Health Program. This position would be Monday through Friday, 28 hours per week, no holidays or weekends are required. Pay is determined by experience •

THIS POSITION MAY POTENTIALLY LEAD TO A FULL TIME TEACHING POSITION.

Job Responsibilities:

• Works under the supervision of the teacher of record
• Demonstrates and assists in teaching basic nursing skills
• Evaluates student skill demonstration for competency
• Watches and supervises students within the classroom and lab settings
• Supports teacher’s lessons by reviewing material with students
• Assists the teacher in preparing for laboratory instruction by getting materials and equipment ready for class
• Assists in enforcing school and class rules
• Assists teachers with recordkeeping, such as calculating grades and tracking attendance

Required Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Comfortable interacting high school students
• Time management and organizational skills
• Proficiency with nursing skills and familiarity with the health care environment

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with at least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (prefer hospital or long term care)
• Associate Degree
